CHIBATRON

For anyone that is a Persian and lives in proximity to Mission Bay, you were probably attending this years fun filled Persian Festival 09. Right as we arrived to this heavenly gathering, we were bombarded by Persian Techno music blasting from one of Persia’s greatest DJ’s that Iran has to offer, DJ ALI ! As we strolled along past DJ ALI we noticed giant crowds of Persian’s rushing to the shore yet to find little Persian and adult Persians alike jumping over bon fires that were flaming up to 8 feet high! We soon realized that jumping through/ over a raging fire is an ancient holly ritual to rid Iranians of all their illnesses and misfortunes. So we all decided to join in which right after jumping through the flames, the ash would get in our eyes which made them burn and water only for a quick minute or two… to conclude the night, many danced for hours to DJ ALI’s amazing hard hitting accelerating beats, the curious wondered to the food palace where you could try a different array of 12 foot long shish Kabobtrons, and the rest simply carried on the Persian New Year to their own living spaces.
