Todays pet of the day is Bicycle the Hamster. A small lil guy but nevertheless a great pet. Bicycle can do many enteraining activities such as running around his space age cage, using his little hands to grab items like paper, and playing with his other hamster friends.

Ophelia transfers some thoughts…

Preface:

I thought I’d transfer my thoughts directly as they transmit through my brain straight onto my latest post; rather than my usual post of personal experience. Though still personal; I take you through the mind of Ophelia in my own science of sleep. It’s also quite late at night right now as I record this directly on my blackberry I keep oh-so conviently on my nightstand.

  So this is what happened to me: I started thinking about these two, possibly completely adventitious and unrelated concepts; yet upon later conteplation they also seemed to accompy each other. I started thinking about these two things while lying comfortably in my bed, and contemplated just that.  Why does sleeping create such an opulence of comfort?  The feeling of just lying down in a soft bed as your sleep is welcomed amongst your pillow.  I go to sleep every single night of my life, and yet each and every time it is just so perfectly comfortable and pleasant.  Knowing a day is over and another one is to begin. (Interupted thought: It’s strange how days as we know them can only go forward. I wonder why is that so..? How long will it be until the days on Earth when you will be able to go backwards and forwards in time?  It’s a tricky concept; but it seems past to present time travel will inevitably have to be discovered. I mean think about all that we know today that probably couldn’t even be imagined by prehistoic peoples. And her name is The Internet. I also wonder what the future species to rule the globe will think of us; will we become known as the ‘Earth-ruining species’? And, I would assume time-travel, is the next natural step towards scientific discovery. Sorry, got off on a tangent there…continue with what I was saying:)  So that was my first thought that I began to ponder…the bliss that comes with being entirely comfortable.

My simultaneous second thought was sound. It wasn’t that it was unconsciously silent. It wasn’t so. But for once I realized, or rather heard, how hearing actually sounds in your ear. When you’re not listening to anything at all. The sound inside the eardrum, the vortex of soundsysteming, when actually listened to it all just sounds so complicated.  May be wierdly unimaginable when read, yes I know, however when heard, or even when felt, it’s noise that demonstrates the trillions (or billions…?) of your cells sprinting around and around. I think I heard for the first time what hearing actually is. I listened to the literal raw sound of sound in pure deafness. No kidding. Twas pretty cool I must say. You should really try it sometime. 

So, I continued thinking about those two different thoughts as I lay here in my bed. It was even sort of adventure-esque, like stepping into a different mindset.  So give it a go, one of your nights.

Alright, so that tis all I have to say this time. Hope you found it somewhat ‘terestin. A true occuring story I’d thought I share.
